Harbin Ranks China's Second Most Popular Summer Tourist Destination

Harbin in Northeast China Heilongjiang province was recognized as the second most popular summer tourist destination in China, according to the China Summer Tourists Big Data Report recently launched by three domestic companies in the big data and tourism sectors.

Statistics from Harbin Taiping International Airport reveal that the number of flights arriving and departing Harbin airport in July hit 11,761, transporting a total of 1.64 million passengers, which respectively witnessed a 10.4 percent and 13 percent increase compared with the same month in 2015; and both set new records for a single month.

Harbin ranked second most popular summer tourist destination based on a tourism big data report issued by CYTS-LINKAGE Public Relations Consulting Co, TalkingData and www.meituan.com, at the First Summer Tourism Innovation Conference held in Harbin from July 8 to 13.

Rich wetland and forest resources, cool weather, abundant wildlife and well-organized travel routes are important reasons behind the summer influx of Chinese tourists to Harbin.
