Visitors Walk on Frozen Songhua River in Harbin

Visitors walk on the frozen Songhua River in Harbin, Northeast China's Heilongjiang province on Dec 17. As the temperature in Harbin dropped to -20 Celsius, Songhua River totally froze over, enabling people to walk and play on the ice. The ice attracted a lot of local residents and tourists, turning the area into a busy tourist attraction. People entertain themselves by different entertainment facilities on the frozen Songhua River in Harbin.
 
However, the local government has since banned people from walking on the ice to ensure the safety of visitors to the area.
