Eastar Jet opens Harbin-Cheongju route

Low-cost airline Eastar Jet from South Korea opened its first flight connecting Harbin and Cheongju when its Boeing 737-800 made a smooth landing at Harbin Taiping Airport at 2:40 pm on Oct 28.

The flight is scheduled to depart from South Korea’s Cheongju at 12:30 am and arrive in Harbin at 2:40 pm every Tuesday and Saturday, returning to Cheongju at 6:00 pm with a departure time in Harbin at 3:40 pm the same day.

Eastar Jet is a low-cost airline established on October 26, 2007. It held the highest load factor (about 86 percent average) in 2009 in the Gimpo-Jeju route among domestic airlines in South Korea, beating major airlines such as Korean Air and Asiana Airlines. Eastar Jet launched its air route to Harbin after it opened China air routes to Shanghai, Jinan, Shenyang and Dalian.
