Harbin Ice and Snow World Closed on March 1 & Receives 1.3 Million Visitors

Harbin Ice and Snow World, a popular tourist destination in winter in Northeast China, closed in the evening of March 1 because of the arrival of warmer weather and safety concerns on visitors.

The just concluded Harbin Ice and Snow World gained a reputation for its amazing landscape, wonderful performance, and service facilities.

During its 70-day operation, the park received 1.3 million domestic and overseas tourists, achieving a 47 percent increase in the number of visitors compared to last year and reaching historical high.

Its revenue reached 320 million yuan($52 million), seeing a peak in the history.

The reception hall was expanded to handle more waiting visitors. Free access to WiFi and ginger decoction were available in the hall. There were also rental service of winter clothing and accessories.

It was the first time that the Harbin Ice and Snow World used a cartoon fairy image to promote branding across the park.
