E-business Startup Requirements Easing off in Harbin, China

The city of Harbin, capital of Heilongjiang province, has announced a new policy on relaxing the requirements for registering a new online business to make individual startups easier and to stimulate private business, according to its market supervisors.

Gone are the limits on individuals wanting to start an online shop on an e-business site, such as Taobao and JD, as long as shop owners is not in violation of the commerce law.

So far, Harbin has 11,000 online shops run by local people, and this measure is expected to help that number grow, along with investment, and to provide a firmer foundation for economic recovery, and create more job opportunities, according to the market supervisors.
